Glossary of Terms

FBOs: Fixed Base Operators (FBO) is a commercial enterprise that has been granted the right by an airport authority to operate on that airport and provide aviation services, such as fuel, parking and hangar space, to the General Aviation (GA) community.

Offtake Agreement: Long-term contract between an airline (the buyer) and a producer of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) where the airline commits to purchase a specific volume of SAF over a set period, essentially guaranteeing a market for the SAF producer and securing a future supply of sustainable fuel for the airline; it helps incentivize investment in SAF production by providing a predictable demand for the product..

SAF: Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is renewable jet fuel aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Renewable feedstocks include biomass and waste oils.
